I love crocheting!!!!

I have been crocheting here recently! And here is a little story!
I sat down on the sofa one evening and decided to do some crocheting. So I pulled out my book of patterns and was looking for a easy one. I only knew how to crochet a chain, but was looking at the book anyways. All of a sudden, a feeling of utter despair swept over me. How would I ever learn any of this. The whole "crochet language" and everything. So I went to YouTube and started with the simplest thing I could find, the single crochet stich. I practiced a little while and after that, I felt like I wad ready to crochet a scarf!

Moral of the story, have confidence in yourself and start at the beginning!
Now here are some pics of my first crocheted stuff!
On the left is my first single crochet thing, and the right, a half double crochet chain! I reeaaallllyyyyy need to practice more, but it is a start!

Okay, well that's it for today folks! Hope you all enjoyed! I would love to hear what you think!

  1. How fun to learn a new skill! :) I hope to see pictures of a scarf made by you in the future. ;)
When I was maybe 14 I was given yarn and a crochet hook as a Christmas gift, so it kind of forced me to learn. I've made scarves, hats, a coin purse, washcloths, flowers and a purse so far. I don't pick it up too often, but it's fairly easy to make things fast with crochet. :)

    1. Yeah, hopefully I will make one soon!
Wow! Are you a quick learner? It sounds like it!
I really love crocheting, now that I've got into it! When I was little I helped and watched my mom crochet, so I have always known a little bit! My mom is the best! <3

      Thanks for the encouragement, Sarah!

  3. I tried crocheting once! Heh, ONCE. And then I failed. Miserably. Making stuff out of yarn isn't exactly my thing, I've found. :P

    1. Oh, well that is just fine, Katie! Every person has there own gifts and talents that the Lord has given them! You are a lot better than me at a lot of things I'm sure!
I like crocheting because (if you do it right)you can just pull the yarn and it comes un done to where you want it to!
Thank you for your comment, Katie! Oh, and I was wondering how old you are, but if you would rather not say that is just fine! :)

  4. Paige, how wonderful that you started to crochet. Keep going at it, and it will start getting easier for you. That's how I felt about my camera at first, but now I call it 'my friend' haha. My sister knits and crochets and I've always thought it was such a talent. Please show us anything you make.

    Have a joyful Sunday.

    1. Hahaha! Yeah, cameras can be tricky at first, but after you get used to it, it is a lot of fun! Me, my sister, and my mom do photography, Mom is a professional and Ashley is too, I just have some experience to gain yet!
I definitely will post what I make!

      You to!

  5. That's good you're learning Paige. Keep trying at it. I know those stitches as well, and one stitch that is both fun and easy to make is called a moss stitch. It makes a bumpy look and it's really cool. You just do a half double crochet and as lip stitch, and you do that alternating. You can look it up sometime after you master the stitches you're working on now. :)
I've made a bag, pot holders, coasters, infinity scarf, Bible case, baby hats and booties, slippers, necklaces and bracelets, fingerless mittens, and more. I love making decorative pillows with the moss stitch. Infinity scarves are really easy and fun to make. I just made my first one last week or the week before, and it came out fabulously! You can see pictures of it on my store if you'd like. :) ashleysyarnworks.blogspot.com

    Keep practicing!
    Love in Christ,
