...be thou an example...

"Let no man despise thy youth,
but be thou an example of
the believers, in word,
in conversation, in charity,
in spirit, in purity."

   - 1 Timothy 4:12-

I have put this verse on the kitchen window so I can memorize it while I am doing dishes. I now have it memorized and it has helped me to be more joyful, really! Whenever I complain about how many dishes there are, or that I have the "hardest" job, the Lord brings this verse to my mind and I say it to myself and think, "If we had company over right now and I was complaining about my chores, would that be an example?" And then if that little part of me says,"We don't have any company over though." well, then I have to act like my family is company.
That usually works well because I want to be an example to my little  brothers.
So now when I say it to myself, my work, whatever it is, goes so much more quickly, and joyfully, because I know that the Lord wants me to be a good example,to everyone around me!!

Let no man despise thy youth,
be an example to everyone,
be joyful, singing praises unto the Lord no matter where you are,
be kind, and generous,
be ready to forgive...
..so that no man will despise thy youth.

Great grandpa

Great grandpa (Grandpa) was such an inspiration to me ever since I was little. His joyful face and cheerfulness, even when things were hard for him, was so inspiring. We all loved his stories and his smile.
On our vacation, we got word that his kidneys had stopped working. We packed up and went to NE to see him for most likely, the last time. I was really un prepared for how bad it was.
Whenever we came down there to see him, he would be sitting in his wheelchair with a smile from ear to ear. We would sing for him and talk with him.
But he couldn't even move this time. We told him we loved him, and I told him what a great grandpa he was. He tried to talk to us, but he couldn't. We all sang for him, and he cried.
It was a very moving time. Then two days later, he went to be with Jesus. I am really sad that he is gone, but it is so comforting to know he was a Christian. To know that we will see him again, and talk to him again, just in heaven! He will have no more pain, no more tears!
Both of my Great Grandparents are Christians, and I have learned a lot from them! I am so glad that I still have Grandma. She is such a blessing!
Please pray for my Great Grandma, and Grandma. This has been hard for them.

This was a year ago.

Firsts!

I have been crocheting a LOT and thought I'd share with you the things I've made! There aren't pictures of them, but  let's get started anyways!
I learned how to make doilies a little while ago, and that has been really fun!
I have also been making baby boots! They are so easy And fun to make!
Right now I am working on a scarf! It will probably take quite a while, but I am trying to be patient and stay focused on it!
I can also make simple little things like, flowers, butterflies, and bookmarks!
I love crocheting! It is so fun and easy and totally awesome!
I can also make simple little things like, flowers, butterflies, and bookmarks! Oh, and I've also made a hat! :)
My parents got me a "Crochet-opedia", as an early birthday present, and I am just loving it!!!!
Can you say, best parents ever? I don't know what I'd do without them, seriously.

This little sister of mine

Often I am amazed at how time flys. It seems like just yesterday that she was taking her first steps, or learning how to crawl. Sometimes I wish that time would stop, and that precious memories will just go on forever, don't you?
Lilliana. She is so big. She makes everyone around her smile. She talks non stop! And she knows exactly how to get attention, and love's it!
She is now 2 and we are all blown way by how quickly the time had disappeared!  I have put together a collage of pictures of her that I thought you'd all enjoy!
Come on, you're practically dieing of how cute she is, admit it!

At the place of the sea

Have you been to the red sea place in your life,
Where in spite of all you can do
There is no way back, there is no way out, there is no other way than-through?
Than wait on the Lord with a trust serene,
Till the night of your fears are gone
And he will send the wind, He will heap the floods,
When He says to your soul, "Go On. "
And His hand will lead you through, clear through
Ere' the watery walls roll down,
No foe can reach you, no wave can touch,
No mightiest sea can drown;
The tossing billows may rear their crests,
Their foam at your feet may break
But over their bed you shall walk try shod,
In the path that your Lord will make.
In the morning watch, 'neath the lifted cloud,
And you shall see but the Lord alone
When He leads you on from the place of the sea,
To a land that you have not known;
And your fears will pass as your foes have passed,
You shall be no more afraid;
You shall sing His praise in a better place
A place that His hand has made.

This poem made me think of someone I know,  that is going to Africa this June.  Please pray for her as she chases after God!

I hope this has encouraged you in any way!
Prayers for all of you,
Paige
