On our vacation, we got word that his kidneys had stopped working. We packed up and went to NE to see him for most likely, the last time. I was really un prepared for how bad it was.
Whenever we came down there to see him, he would be sitting in his wheelchair with a smile from ear to ear. We would sing for him and talk with him.
But he couldn't even move this time. We told him we loved him, and I told him what a great grandpa he was. He tried to talk to us, but he couldn't. We all sang for him, and he cried.
It was a very moving time. Then two days later, he went to be with Jesus. I am really sad that he is gone, but it is so comforting to know he was a Christian. To know that we will see him again, and talk to him again, just in heaven! He will have no more pain, no more tears!
Both of my Great Grandparents are Christians, and I have learned a lot from them! I am so glad that I still have Grandma. She is such a blessing!
Please pray for my Great Grandma, and Grandma. This has been hard for them.
This was a year ago.

Your Great Grandpa sounds wonderful, Paige. It's nice that you got to see him again. He sounds like a cheerful man. Your post hit home for me today, as my dear mom had kidney failure, and that's how she passed away. She is in my heart always.
ReplyDeleteYour Grandpa will always be in your heart as well.
